Position Summary:
The Unit Director coordinates and integrates services within the unit and within ABH, develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services and maintains accountability for professional standards of practice within the unit. The Unit Director provides administrative supervision and encourages staff development. The position is responsible for the coordination of performance improvement activities within the unit and for the fiscal performance of the unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recruitment of staff
• Provision of administrative supervision of all PACT staff including performance evaluation
• Responsible for monitoring of quality of service delivery including measures of service effectiveness and consumer satisfaction
• Interacts with outside agencies, organizations and systems to advocate for PACT services and assist in meeting needs of PACT consumers. This interaction includes but is not limited to attending required DMHS PACT meetings (e.g. statewide PACT Directors, County Systems Review Meeting) and NJAMA Advocacy meetings
• Communicate needs identified by teams including resources and other support needs to ABH clinical management team and leadership committee. Attend ABH clinical managers meetings
• Support the smooth functioning of the PACT teams fostering effective team processes
• Participates in performance improvement activities as defined by ABH. Primary responsibility for tracking client outcome, accessibility, utilization and other service data for the purpose of performance improvement, reporting data to clinical managers committee
• Completion and monitoring of service coordination agreements with external agencies in coordination with VP Operations
• Collaborates with Team to facilitate PACT client accessibility to an effective continuum of care
• Responsible for administrative, clinical and operational functioning of PACT
• Ensure adequate levels of clinical staff, supervision, interdisciplinary training and skill development and support
• Responsibility for coordinating referral process and case assignment
• Responsible for assuring compliance with DMHS, JCAHO, ABH policy and other relevant standards and financial performance of service according to ABH budget
• Provide back-up to PACT on-call system
• Maintain valid NJ driver’s license
Minimal Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in a behavioral health related field or LSW.
Experience: Five (5) years experience in behavioral health setting and two (2) years
supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting.
Training: Psychiatric assessment using DSM-IV, Crisis Intervention, Substance use evaluation.
Preferred Qualification:
License/Certification: Licensed as independent practitioner in New Jersey that would qualify as LIP under ABH
Training/Experience: Knowledge of ASAM placement criteria, Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification, strong knowledge of community resources, ABH system,
training in performance improvement activities.

This is a standardized job description for Volunteers of America Delaware Valley. Specific functions may vary per facility.
General Functions:
The employee in this classification shall report to the Director of Substance Abuse Counseling. The employee is part of the treatment team. The employee performs a treatment function and the primary provider of clinical services to clients. This position maintains accountability for the client as established through the funding source, and according to agency Policy. The employee is responsible for conducting risk/needs assessments and developing service plans for all clients assigned to their caseload, and implementing those plans subject to review by the Treatment Team and/or approval of the Director of Substance Abuse Counseling.
Scope Of Duties:
1. Interact with all clients, staff and community members with respect and courtesy.
2. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences and training sessions.
3. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with operational policies and procedures.
4. Assessment of all new clients via the approved agency Assessment Tools to determine counseling needs and appropriate level of care.
5. Develop Service Plans on all assigned clients based on approved agency assessment tools that is client centered and recovery oriented with client input.
6. Obtain previous records that are relevant to current treatment recommendation.
7. Monitor and document client progress according to funding source standards and/or operational policy and procedures.
8. Review, reassess and revise service plan with client input to address on-going problems and to determine need for continued services or discharge.
9. Schedule and facilitate individual sessions with clients as required.
10. Identify and/or develop resources and link clients to needed services.
11. Provide active case consultation and coordination when necessary with client linked resources and referral sources.
12. Facilitate scheduled workshops/programs/groups addressing client’s needs.
13. Fulfill obligations of training agreements entered into for required treatment interventions.
14. Develop appropriate discharge plan on all assigned clients as per contractual requirements.
15. Facilitate house meetings as needed.
16. Participate in required internal/external Treatment Team meetings.
17. Complete all required reports and other documentation.
18. Demonstrate competency in program related certifications.

i. Be enrolled in a course of study leading to certification as a LCADC or CADC;
ii. Receive in-service training;
iii. Be trained and evaluated before being assigned counseling responsibilities
iv. Make satisfactory progress towards certification, with such progress reviewed and documented by the Clinical Supervisor at least semiannually;
v. Become credentialed within three years of the date of hire;
Additional job-related skills include: working with addictive behaviors; a basic understanding of human behavior; and utilizing group dynamics to address special needs populations. Employee must possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact appropriately with clientele. Knowledge of social learning theory, cognitive-behavioral intervention and approaches is preferable. Skilled in assessment and evaluation, willingness to work flexible hours, which may include weekends and evenings, and demonstrated competencies in training, group interaction, and mentoring. Basic computer skills. This employee must be able to pass criminal background clearance and drug screening. Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to meet VOA driver standards.

POSITION TITLE: Treatment Assistant
REPORTS TO: Treatment Coordinator and/or Program Manager
DEPARTMENT:

This is a standardized job description for Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, Inc. Specific functions may vary per facility.
General Functions:
The employee in this classification shall report to the Treatment Coordinator and/or Program Manager. The employee is part of the treatment team. The employee performs both a treatment function emphasizing accountability established through the funding source and according to agency Policy, as well as an administrative function by assisting Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors with some clerical-oriented duties. The employee is responsible for working with special needs clients, as well as conducting intakes, family intakes, entering data collection information, and facilitating orientation and life skills sessions to residents.
Scope Of Duties:
1. Interact with all clients, staff and community members with respect and courtesy.
2. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences and training sessions.
3. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with operational policies and procedures.
4.Orient and assess all new clients via the approved agency Assessment Tools.
5. Complete Service Plans on all assigned clients based on approved agency assessment tools with client input.
6. Schedule all medical appointments for identified clients.
7. Assist Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counelors by entering core curriculum, treatment schedule, and tombstone data collection into the excel data capture system.
8. Act as a liaison to Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors, schedule and facilitate case management meetings (non-clinical) with clients as required.
9. Identify and/or develop resources and link clients to needed services.
10. Facilitate scheduled workshops/programs/groups addressing client’s needs. For program-specific requirements, see addendum.
11.Fulfill obligations of training agreements entered into for core curriculum programs.
12. Assist Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors in filing funding source documentation in resident files, and maintaining files to funding source standards.
13. Facilitate group orientation sessions to clients, and assist in implementing life skills sessions, and other non-core curriculum programs like leisure/recreation program, social skills, program, etc.
14. Participate in required internal/external Treatment Team meetings.
15. Complete all required reports and other documentation.
16. Demonstrate competency in program related certifications.
17. Provide support to program assistant function.
18. Maintain professional boundaries with all clients, staff and community members.
19. Other duties as assigned.
Addendum for Addiction Treatment Program:
1.Attend court hearings and/or parole hearings as subpoenaed or assigned.
2. Basic computer experience required.
3. Conduct drug and alcohol screens as directed or needed and report results to Director or Manager.

1. Occasionally required to smell, stoop.
2. Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel.
3. Regularly required to reach.
4. Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
5. Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
6. Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
7. Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while remain fixed on a given point.
Credentials/Abilities:
The employees in this position must have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED with one year experience with Volunteers of America or one year experience in a Human Services related field. Transferable experience is preferred. Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact appropriately with clientele. Basic computer skills are preferred. Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to meet agency driver standards.

This is a standardized job description for VOADV. Specific functions may vary per facility.
General Functions:
The employee in this classification shall report to the Medical Director. The employee oversees the direction, provision and quality nursing services. The responsibilities are managerial in function, with the coordination of: supervision, training, and supporting the staff delivering nursing and treatment related services to all clients entering the programs. Provide support to program staff to ensure clients receive appropriate services based on assessed need.
Scope of Duties:
1. Interact with all clients, staff and community members with respect and courtesy.
2. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.
3. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with Administrative policies and procedures.
4. Provide administrative oversight of the facility’s nursing services and directly supervise the program’s nursing staff.
5. Assist the Program Director in the development and maintenance of written objectives, policies, procedures, an organization plan and a quality assurance program for nursing services. Review nursing policies and procedures annually.
6. In conjunction with the facility’s management team participate in planning and budgeting for nursing services.
7. Ensure the coordination nursing services are coordinated and integrated with other client care services to ensure continuity of care for each client.
8. Participate in staff orientation and staff education activities, when applicable.
9. Ensure that the facility complies with medical staffing patterns.
10. Assure that all medical interventions are documented in the clinical file.
11. Responsible for the selection and hiring responsibilities for all nursing staff as well as participating in the determination of staffing issues including, but not limited to; checking references, credentials and background checks, of all perspective medical staff, volunteers and interns. Provide supervision to nursing staff, including orientation, training and assignment of duties.
12. Follow all safety and security procedures required by VOADV and licensing agencies and/or funding source(s).
13. Represent agency and actively participate on appropriate external coalitions, committees, and meetings.
14. Provide on-going feedback with regard to program initiatives, program philosophy, models and approaches.
15. Meet weekly with Treatment Team to review service delivery components and to provide feedback and input into staff development plans.
16. Network with other community agencies to develop alternate resources for treatment support and aftercare.
17. Be on-call for medical emergencies as scheduled.
18. Other duties as assigned.
