Position Summary:

The Unit Director coordinates and integrates services within the unit and within ABH, develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services and maintains accountability for professional standards of practice within the unit. • Completion and monitoring of service coordination agreements with external agencies in coordination with VP Operations

General Functions:
The employee in this classification shall report to the Director of Substance Abuse Counseling. The employee is part of the treatment team. The employee performs a treatment function and the primary provider of clinical services to clients. This position maintains accountability for the client as established through the funding source, and according to agency Policy. 8. Act as a liaison to Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors, schedule and facilitate case management meetings (non-clinical) with clients as required.
9. Identify and/or develop resources and link clients to needed services.
10. Facilitate scheduled workshops/programs/groups addressing client’s needs. For program-specific requirements, see addendum.
11.Fulfill obligations of training agreements entered into for core curriculum programs.
12. Assist Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors in filing funding source documentation in resident files, and maintaining files to funding source standards.
13. Facilitate group orientation sessions to clients, and assist in implementing life skills sessions, and other non-core curriculum programs like leisure/recreation program, social skills, program, etc.
14. Participate in required internal/external Treatment Team meetings.
15. Complete all required reports and other documentation.
16. Demonstrate competency in program related certifications.
17. Provide support to program assistant function.
18. Maintain professional boundaries with all clients, staff and community members.

1.Attend court hearings and/or parole hearings as subpoenaed or assigned.

This is a standardized job description for VOADV. Specific functions may vary per facility.

General Functions:

The employee in this classification shall report to the Medical Director. The employee oversees the direction, provision and quality nursing services. The responsibilities are managerial in function, with the coordination of: supervision, training, and supporting the staff delivering nursing and treatment related services to all clients entering the programs. Provide support to program staff to ensure clients receive appropriate services based on assessed need.

Scope of Duties:

1. Interact with all clients, staff and community members with respect and courtesy.
2. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.
3. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with Administrative policies and procedures.
4. Provide administrative oversight of the facility’s nursing services and directly supervise the program’s nursing staff.
5. Assist the Program Director in the development and maintenance of written objectives, policies, procedures, an organization plan and a quality assurance program for nursing services. Review nursing policies and procedures annually.
6. In conjunction with the facility’s management team participate in planning and budgeting for nursing services.
7. Ensure the coordination nursing services are coordinated and integrated with other client care services to ensure continuity of care for each client.
8. Participate in staff orientation and staff education activities, when applicable.
9. Ensure that the facility complies with medical staffing patterns.
10. Assure that all medical interventions are documented in the clinical file.
11. Responsible for the selection and hiring responsibilities for all nursing staff as well as participating in the determination of staffing issues including, but not limited to; checking references, credentials and background checks, of all perspective medical staff, volunteers and interns. Provide supervision to nursing staff, including orientation, training and assignment of duties.
12. Follow all safety and security procedures required by VOADV and licensing agencies and/or funding source(s).
13. Represent agency and actively participate on appropriate external coalitions, committees, and meetings.
14. Provide on-going feedback with regard to program initiatives, program philosophy, models and approaches.
15. Meet weekly with Treatment Team to review service delivery components and to provide feedback and input into staff development plans.
16. Network with other community agencies to develop alternate resources for treatment support and aftercare.
17. Be on-call for medical emergencies as scheduled.
