New Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor Written Exam!

The long awaited new written exam is here and will be offered starting this June testing cycle. While the new test might look a bit different, it measures the same material as in the past, although some have been expanded into domains of their own. Please click on the following IC&RC study guide for more detailed information.

You will see that the new International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium's national Job Task Analysis for LCADC/CADC's now identifies 8 domains: The old titles are in parenthesis)

1. Clinical Evaluation (Assessment)
2. Treatment Planning (Case Management)
3. Referral (Case Management)
4. Service Coordination (Case Management)
5. Counseling (same title)
6. Client Family and Community Education (Education)
7. Documentation (Case Management)
8. Professional and Ethical Responsibilities (Professional Responsibility)

The test will remain 3 1/2 hours and be comprised of 150 questions. There will be a mini case study included in the exam that will deal with the 12 Core Functions.

As a reminder, the Oral Exam is still required in New Jersey.

Due to a delayed implementation date, applications to grandfather into the upgraded the Certified Criminal Justice Professional  will not be available until November 1st. The 90 day grandparenting period will be open from December 11, 2009 thru March 1, 2009.
