An updated schedule has been put together for the
Written Exam Preparation Course.
The schedule is as follows: August 18, 2006 November 17, 2006.
All the other pertinent information, including a registration form, can be found on the Foundation website located
here.
The Oral Test Preparation Course has been RESCHEDULED!
The new dates are as follows:
Saturday, August 5, 2006 and Saturday November 4, 2006.
Those of you who have already registered will be re-notified by email to confirm your registration.
All IC&RC professional examinations are based on current standards and practice of the profession.
Approximately every 5-7 years it is necessary to update exams to conform to these current standards and practice.
The IC&RC prevention exam is based on an RDS study that was completed in 1999 and is now 7 years old.
IC&RC is in the process of updating the prevention exam to reflect current prevention practice.
We anticipate a new study guide to be available by September 2006 (to be produced by Distance Learning Center) and a new exam used at March 2007 cycle.
Candidates may wish to postpone their test until the new exam and study materials are available.
The Foundation (FABHP) will be adding a new feature in its mission of supporting professionals in the addictions field.
The new feature will be a list of professionals we are trying to contact. It is important for us to keep in contact, with news,
current and special notices and other information that can help with the advancement of the field. We will also be
trying to contact those professionals who have moved and have not forwarded a new mailing address.
We would hope that all of you will take a quick look at this list and let your colleagues know that we are trying to contact them.
In some cases, we have certificates that have been returned and we would like to get them into the proper hands.
Remember the date - September 16, 2006 -
Liberty State Park
E-Mail: foar@ncaddnj.org
Registration will begin at 12 noon.
The ceremony will begin at 2pm and the walk will begin at approximately 3:30pm.
Our commemorative walk is usually about 2 miles.
The guest speaker will be oscar, grammy and globe winning songwriter, Paul Williams.
The Walk is a celebration of recovery for those in recovery, their family members, friends and other allies,
as well as a symbol of hope for the thousands upon thousands still in the throes of addiction, so that they
and their families and friends can have hope and see that recovery is not only possible, but a reality for many
whose lives at one time were hopeless and full of despair.
