RMA to CDA UPGRADE
There
is now a pathway for Recovery Mentor Associates (RMA) to obtain the
Chemical Dependency Associate (CDA).
The Board, in
response to many requests from the RMA's, has designed a way to keep
their credentials meaningful in the face of government funding
cutbacks and to expand the RMA's employability in the addiction
field.
Active RMA's
can upgrade to the 72 hour CDA by:

Using the 48 hours of training acquired for your initial RMA. Send in
your certificate with CDA application.
·
PLUS The actual 18 recertification hours required for your first RMA
cycle.
·
PLUS any 6 additional approved CADC hours.
You will be
required to take the following 6 hour courses for your next
recertification period as a CDA.

C101 Initial Interviewing
o
C201 Introduction to Counseling
o
C304 HIV
o
C503 Cultural Competency

Co-Occurring Disorder Professional:Grandfathering
to National
Reciprocity
Currently, the
AAODA, the IC&RC's Advanced Exam is used in New Jersey for the
Co-Occurring credential. By early Spring, NJ will start a
grandparenting procedure to upgrade the CODS and CODA's to national
reciprocity. After the grandparenting period expires, a new
Co-Occurring Exam will replace the AAODA as the written exam.click here

LCADC/CADC courses to Approved Providers? Well, now you
can!
For
$250 per year, the Certification Board will list all your
course approvals on our website and provide a link for this service
in every newsletter for viewing by Approved Providers.
This
new service is a response to the many instructor and Approved
Provider requests we have received.
Please

Application Spotlight
As
reported in last months's newsletter.CJC's can upgrade(test exempt)
to the
IC&RC reciprocal Certified Criminal Justice Professional during
the next 90 days(12/1/08 to 3/1/09). Both
the grandfathering and standard applications , as well as the
CJC application, can be downloaded by clicking here .
